child's play

Yesterday, the redhead and I broke out the Play-Doh. The dough came from Aunt Sarah and Uncle Grande, who kept the redhead last weekend while Mr. Baseball and I went to the mountains.

The Play-Doh went over really well. Redhead didn't really know what to do with it, but he liked it when I made snakes and dough balls. I even got out a plastic knife with which to make the eyes on the snakes and cut the dough.

Then I got the brilliant idea that it would be really cute to spell out "I Love You" with the play-doh and take a picture of the redhead with the love message to send to friends and family. After all, he was being really sweet and having a fun time.

While I ran to grab the camera, he turned on me, and this is what I got...

A paradox of sorts isn't it? A knife-wielding toddler saying "I Love You" doesn't quite give me the warm fuzzies.

So - don't call Social Services yet - I took the knife away and finally got a sweet picture to send to my friends and family.

I still pretty much only like to make snakes with play-doh. One of my favorite Far Side cartoons is the one called "God Makes the Snake" and he's rolling it out and says, "These things are easy!" hee hee hee.

What a cute idea!

I liked the first picture better...it was all, "Yeah I love you--GOT IT?"

I would kill to have hair the color of his. Naturally, that is.

Okay, I'm so with Lula on this one! Stray from the conventional, baby! Knives are so boyish! What's a boy without one? Well, safe. But beyond that.....I have no idea where to go with this.....
I admire your beautiful straight play-doh letters. Mine would have been much more ripply.

Cute pics! I totally want his hair.

Oh, and is that a highchair he's sitting in? How great is that! Dylan hasn't sat in one since he was 15 months old... the downer of being a 2nd child.

I like the one with the knife better.

Like the redhead is saying...."I heart you - and you better heart me back or ...or I'll cut you"

Very funny

Love it!! The pictures are priceless. He is so stinking cute.

So, I just caught up on your story with you and your man. Sweet. But I think the best part was when while reading I heard NKOTB on your player. You're my hero.

So so cute! The last one is sweet, but I love the crazed look in his eyes in the "evil" one. :)

Cute, cute!!! Why don't our playdough times look so idyllic? Our post-playdough dates look like a confetti factory explosion...

Blessings!
