kind acts of randomness - vol. 16

In light of recently writing my love story with Mr. Baseball, I thought this photo was particularly interesting. There may have been just one thing that Mr. Baseball could have done that would make me love him even more...

Nothin' says lovin' like a back-hair valentine.

(**please note this is NOT Mr. Baseball as some may have been led to believe. I definitely would have addressed this issue in our marriage before now)

kind acts of randomness - vol. 15

For starters, I have a good excuse for not posting kind acts of randomness first thing this morning - my internet went down yesterday afternoon until this morning. I also have a really good excuse for not posting kind acts of randomness all day today (you'll see in a day or two and forgive me). You should be glad I remembered to post it at all given all the excitement of the last 8 hours.

So, without further adue...

By the time you get to the phone, pay phones will be obsolete and your emergency will be ancient history.

BTW - I did the conversion - 174 km equals 108 miles.

I don't even want to know what their secret ingredients are. Maybe they should throw in some Preparation H for good measure.

kind acts of randomness - vol. 12

Oh, this is rich!

As found on www.inventorspot.com , the merchant for Pooper Scooper Barbie says,

"
Finally, Barbie has a dog that eats and makes a mess! Tanner the dog is soft and fuzzy and her mouth, ears, head and tail really move! You can open Tanner dog's mouth and "feed" her dog biscuits. Comes with a dog bone and chew toys that Tanner can hold in her mouth, too. When Tanner has to go to the bathroom, Barbie doll cleans up with her special magnetic scooper and trash can. Poseable Barbie doll included."

Are you kidding me?

As usual, Barbie looks so chic with her hair perfectly coiffed and sporting a hip new outfit. As I was looking at all the accesories that come along with Super Pooper Barbie (or whatever her name is), I took a second look at the food and the poo. Hmmmm...an eery similarity. I don't know about you, but what I eat and how it comes out look and smell
totally different. Clearly God knew what he was doing - this way we wouldn't get confused about what we're not supposed to eat! Since Tanner's food and poo have the same look about them, Barbie better be careful about receiving those puppy kisses! I also think its great that she puts the poo in a can. Maybe she got tired of poo-steppin' when she went out to swim in her pool. Oh, and don't you love the fact that her pooper scooper is magnetic. What is she feeding that dog that she can attract poo with a magnet?

Anyway, I can't wait to see what they come out with next. Will it be Lactose Intolerant Barbie, Bodily Fluids Barbie, or maybe even the Super Pooper Barbie, complete with tiny toilet!

kind acts of randomness - volume 9

Its been a few weeks since the last installment of KAOR. I was beginning to feel as if I was the only one laughing at these pictures. But, for your viewing pleasure, I present to you...Taffeta Girl.

The first thing that I think of when I see this picture is that little dinosaur in Jurassic Park that looks all sweet and innocent until the fat man makes him mad and then his head flares and he spits poison in his eyes. Yep, that's what she looks like.

Looking at the blue taffeta takes me back to the 80's. My dad worked at a high school for several years and when I was 8ish, I was lucky enough to get to go to one of their dances. All the girls had on beautiful taffeta dresses with puffy sleeves. All of the dresses had long skirts with bunches of petticoats underneath to make them fluffy. They were the kind of dresses I only dreamed of. They were perfect "twirling" dresses - girls, you know what I'm talking about - where you put it on and just can't stop spinning around and around. So beautiful. So puffy and fluffy. So bad bridesmaid dress. So 80's.

Random Wednesday - Volume 8

In all the excitement about my running shoes and Lucy's (our house) new look, I didn't do the Kind Acts of Randomness that at least I (I'm not sure about my readers) have come to love. Instead of posting a picture of complete strangers doing random things, I have a funny picture of the redhead from several months ago that makes me laugh every time I see it.

Here is his best impression of Chris Farley...

Kind Acts of Randomness - Volume 7

As long as I have material, I'm going to continue with these crazy random postings. I always get a good laugh as I'm preparing them for your viewing pleasure. Here's this week's goody.

Perhaps its not the ride itself that's scary but what awaits at the bottom of the hill.

Kind Acts of Randomness - Volume 5

This is probably the best picture yet from my arsenal. I laugh every time I see it.

It was the day that the world of organized child sports will never forget. Everyone had come prepared for the team picture - smiles all around, uniforms clean and crisp, protective pads at the ready, and this morning's breakfast making an appearance all over the kid in the middle row, far left. Hating it for you kid...Better hit the showers...again.

Kind Acts of Randomness - Volume 4

Wow, is it really Wednesday again? My how time flies. Time for more randomness! What to choose (looking through the file of random pics)...hmmm...how about this...

Holy Fat Cat, Batman! This picture is wrong on so many levels...

Level 1 - It disturbs me that a cat would be this large anyway!
Level 2 - What are they feeding that thing? Dogs?
Level 3 - The kitty probably has a name like "Tiny" instead of "Tubby"
Level 4 - He could've been an Oompa Loompa in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
Level 5 - Or dye him blue and he could be the character of Violet Beauregard(from Willy Wonka) who turned into a giant blueberry!
Level 6 - Why would anyone (meaning the human behind the huge cat) want their picture taken laying in this position? Maybe she is being crushed by Monster Kitty!

Okay, I'm fresh out of comments about Tubby! Now its time for you to give your 2 cents. BTW, why is it only 2 cents? Maybe they're not taking inflation into account. By now its probably $17. So go ahead and give your $17 worth.

Randomness - Volume 3

Honestly, my first thought when I saw this picture...EEWWWWWW, think about all the germs! I also thought of my brother-in-law, LeGrande, because he refused to go to the pool that my sister worked at last year due to the germ problem and all the shady characters roaming about. What do you think of this LG? This is more like a Roman bathing pool than a swimming pool! Let's also take a moment to look at the surroundings - looks like a baseball stadium to me. What in the world? It's not a picture that makes me laugh, but rather makes me think...What?

And now for something completely different - muse over this little tidbit of info I found online today:

40,000 Americans are injured by toilets each year

I confess, I'm not the brightest individual on the planet, but I'm no dummy either. I do know that toilets are brainless, inanimate objects incapable of inflicting intentional harm on human beings. Those 40,000 Americans had to be interacting with the toilet in a way that caused an injury. Geesh, how do you explain that one in the ER? "Um, er, actually, I was just sitting there on the crapper and next thing I know it just jumped up and bit me, right in the buttocks!" Right.

I just used 8 words that begin with the letters "i-n"!

Randomness - Volume 2

I know its not Wednesday yet, but I just got so excited about posting a weekly random picture that I'm going to do it a day early. I got a good laugh looking through my file of pictures trying to decide which one to choose. So, without further adue (or however you spell it):

I love this pictures for several reasons:
1) Its just funny
2) I know and I know many of you know that you rocked this kind of hair in the early 90's. Don't even try to deny it.
3) The little girl's hair is bigger than her entire body.
4) The mom looks like Marg Helgenberger (Katherine Willows) from CSI.
5) They probably went through an entire bottle of Aqua Net just for this picture.

One of my fondest memories from this hair period is of the time my sister, our cousin Erin, and I went to Carowinds. We had to get our hair glammed out for the trip, even though we were going on all kinds of roller coasters and water rides. Erin took an especially long time to perfect her "mall bangs" and her efforts were not in vain. When we left Carowinds 8 hours later after going on just about every ride in the park, those bangs had not moved even an inch. What can I say, she had some good hairspray.

Kind Acts of Randomness

I love to laugh. I also like to watch tv, especially America's Funniest Videos. Its a rare show that can make me laugh out loud and laugh hard, but AFV can do it. Its pretty obvious that some people in the videos have "tried" to make a funny video just for the sake of getting on tv. That's pathetic. I like the genuinely (did I spell that right?) hilarious videos (mostly of kids) - like the toddler innocently walking in the backyard who gets jumped by the family cat springing over a bush, or the crazy kid who has drizzled chocolate syrup in a trail all through his house only to be found (already waiting in the bathtub) by his mom. Those were great.

I love random things - pictures, facts, church bulletin bloopers, etc. So, in the spirit of all things hilariously random, I have decided to post one random thing (picture, fact, church bulletin blooper, etc) every week, for your enjoyment. You may not find it funny, that's okay. You are free to comment and/or offer suggestions on what you would like to see on the next week's "Kind Acts of Randomness". But for now, enjoy the first week's installment: (Oh, and feel free to leave a caption of your own in the comments)

What I needed last week during my sinus infection.
