GOTCHA!!!
You thought I was talking about the baby didn't you? (We had our big ultrasound on May 29th).
Mr. Baseball and I decided not to find out the sex of our precious little one in the slow cooker, so you can either be bitter like someone who reads my blog (and shall remain nameless), or just go with it, be happy with us, and be completely surprised come October 24th. Thankyouverymuch.
Actually, I have a new sister(in-law). My little brother Daniel got hitched on Sunday, May 31st outside at a Botanical Garden near Charlotte. The wedding was beautiful (and hot) and very sweet.
Something that was not so beautiful was the Redhead's meltdown that he had when Mr. Baseball tried to take him to the bathroom. I guess I should mention that he has a terrible fear of public bathrooms, he always has. It has something to do with the echoeyness (a new made up word) of it all. He always asks if the toilet has a "nice quiet flush" and will begin to shake violently if they flush automatically or if they're just loud in general. Usually, I just firmly tell him he has to go potty and we somehow make it through. I guess the Redhead thought Daddy would be softer than mean old mommy. Needless to say, I could hear the screams of protest as I rounded the corner of the hallway where the bathroom was located. Eventually everything came out okay once Daddy took him to the travel potty in the car, but he was ruined for the afternoon after that incident. It was naptime, so he was tired, hot, hungry, and in a strange environment with lots of people he didn't know. Only one thing could make it better...
See? No meltdown. Not exactly a happy face, but content nonetheless. Everyone should have a "Nano". We love her. We also love "Papa", who comes with our "Nano", but we didn't get a good picture of him with the Redhead.
Anyway, congratulations Daniel and Jamie! We're so happy for you as you start your married life together.
9 coins in my pocket:
Lovely wedding!
My seven year old daughter freaks out in public restrooms. Always has. She absolutely hates the loud flush of a toilet. She'll do her business and get her clothes all put back on and then flush and run. It beats all I've ever seen.
You are right, everyone SHOULD have a Nano! Glad it was beautiful.
I adore surprises!! We never had any desire to know what color of bun was in our oven either. October still sounds like a long way off. Get yourself some lemonade, girlie, and a good ottoman for your glider!
We were doing a TV commercial a few years ago to highlight the Early Care and Education program...naturally, all of the kids in the scene decided they had to potty at the same time, and their parents were back in another room. So a co-worker and I had to take a bunch of little ones to potty, and they were all afraid of the automatically flushing toilets. We had to hold our hands over their ears before they would agree to potty. A friend later told me to hang a bandana or paper towels or something over the sensor to keep them from flushing. I haven't had the occasion to try that technique, but maybe you could give it a go. Love you! Tuzzin Jenn
My kids are afraid that power flush is going to take them with it. Now they have to power dryers for the hands that will take the skin right off! We need to get a new board of directors for the ATA (Public Toilet Association)....:)
I can't believe you're not finding out! I could never not know! I can't wait to find out. Cole's b-day is October 22. So close!
Please link me next to the word "Bitter." Because it makes me so happy.
NOT.
You're a skank for not finding out. Yeah, I'm bitter. So? And? Big deal.
He's afraid of public toilets because he's fearful of falling in with the flush. And I KNOW you're not putting protective headgear on him, so that adds to the worry.
Yeesh, when will you ever learn?
Bitter. Humph!
LOVE YOU!
ahh! you are not finding out!!! what restraint yall have!! :) Praying all is good with the little babe and with you!
I think it will be wonderful to wait, our parents did it and they were not disappointed with us. I still have something for you when the blessed new member of the family arrives.....
I hope that Redhead is all better now. My little guys is the fire drill at school. That is enought to put him over the edge and then some. He now gets to go to the Library and read when they have one planned.
